Summer Wine

There is very little as fine, as sitting in the sun and drinking crisp white wine.

Most people drink fairly round wines, softened by MLF (not to be confused with MILF. MLF = Malolactic fermentation. For MILF find your own link.)

But the reason a beer is so much better than a pop in the summer is the edge, the brisk acidity.

If you don’t think you know what I’m talking about pick up a nice verdejo from Rueda in Spain.

The nose is floral and fruity, and the palate brisk and clean. One sip and you NEED to be outside, in the sun, missing half your clothes.

Why Californians didn’t adopt this grape instead of chardonnay is just one of life mysteries…
